Terms,conditions & essential information

Welcome to Badaguish

We’re delighted to host you in the heart of the Cairngorms. To help you enjoy a smooth and peaceful stay, please take a moment to read the following guidelines.


🌿 Before You Book

  • The lead guest must be 18+ and is responsible for all guests and payments.
  • By booking, you agree to follow these Terms & Conditions and our Snow & Grit Policy (available at badaguish.org).
  • Please consider taking out travel insurance

✅ Top 10 Things to Know

  1. Check-in from 4pm | Check-out by 10am
  2. Pods: Bring £1 coins for the electricity meter. Bedding is not provided—please bring your own. Limited amount of sleeping bags available to hire, booking before arrival essential. Please contact bookings@bagaguish.org for more information or to reserve.
  3. Lodges: Please don’t adjust heating or control systems.
  4. Arrival: Check in at reception (what3words location link – ). https://w3w.co/think.botanists.quieter

Parking;

Lodges – 3 vehicles per in designated space, excess in main carpark (what3words location link – https://w3w.co/ruins.baths.honeybees) at site entrance by mini roundabout.

Pods – 1 vehicle per pod. in designated space, excess in main carpark at site entrance by mini roundabout. (what3words location link – https://w3w.co/ruins.baths.honeybees)

Tent Camping – Zones 1 and 2 in main carpark at site entrance by mini roundabout, Zones 3, 4 and 5 in hard standing adjacent to Zone 3 (what3words location link – https://w3w.co/corrupted.shoebox.swelling)

Please also read the check-in and guest information on the arrivals noticeboard located next to reception door.

  1. Departure:
    1. Lodges: Strip beds and place all linen, dish towels etc in the laundry bag. Clean up, empty bins, fridges and freezers, run the dishwasher, and take your recycling and rubbish to the recycling and refuse centre beside reception (what3words location link – https://w3w.co/youths.retract.army).  Excess cleaning charge may apply if lodge left in an unsatisfactory condition.
    2. Pods & Camping: Tidy your space, empty bins and fridges, and take your recycling and rubbish to the recycling and refuse centre beside reception (what3words location link – https://w3w.co/youths.retract.army).  Excess cleaning charge may apply if pod/camping area left in an unsatisfactory condition.
  2. Key Return: Return to reception or use the exterior key letterbox. Lost keys incur a fee of £50.
  3. No Smoking or Naked Flames: All indoor spaces are smoke- and candle-free.
  4. Drive Safely: Keep speeds low and park only in designated areas. No vehicles on grass.
  5. Be Clean & Tidy: Leave shared areas, showers and toilets as you found them. Use the recycling centre (what3words location link – https://w3w.co/youths.retract.army)
  6. Respect Others: Be kind and considerate to guests, staff, and neighbours. Quiet hours after 11pm.
  7. Report Issues Promptly: Please let us know of any problems or damage during your stay.
  8. Energy Use: Lodges are metered for electricity/gas—usage is billed after your stay. Please pay promptly.

💳 Payments & Cancellations

  • Lodges: 50% non-refundable deposit; balance taken 45 days before arrival.
  • Pods, Camping, Facilities: Full payment required at booking (non-refundable).
  • Changes: Admin fees apply for any permitted/agreed changes (£10 for pods/camping/facilities, £40 for lodges).

Lodges Cancellation Policy:

  • 45+ days: lose deposit, no balance due.
  • Less than 45 days: full amount is charged.

COVID-19: If we cancel due to national lockdown, we will offer one rebooking within 6 months or a refund. Illness or travel disruption on your end should be covered by your travel insurance.


🏡 House Rules – Let’s Keep Badaguish Special

  • Quiet outside after 11pm
  • No loud or disruptive behaviour
  • No smoking, no candles or open flames indoors
  • No fireworks
  • Respect nature: no damage to grass, trees or wildlife
  • Keep to paths and parking areas
  • Use the recycling centre (what3words location link – https://w3w.co/youths.retract.army)
  • Dogs welcome in lodges (not pods or camping); keep on lead and clean up after them
  • Pyramid climber frame, Travelling Rings over pond, Bike Park and other facilities are used at your own risk. Please ensure young children are supervised.

🚫 Guests who behave anti-socially (e.g. excessive alcohol, noise, or drug use) may be asked to leave without refund.


🐶 Pets

  • Dogs welcome in lodges (£25 per dog per stay).
  • Must be kept on a lead whilst on-site.
  • Not permitted in pods or tents.
  • Owners must clean up any mess, additional cleaning charges may apply if accommodation left in an unsatisfactory condition.

🔥 BBQs & Fire Safety

  • Fire risk is assessed daily. Check the signs on reception before using BBQs.
  • Gas/charcoal BBQs only on hard standing areas at accommodation. No disposable BBQ trays permitted. Fires only allowed in the Shieling.
  • Always supervise BBQs and dispose of coals safely.

🧭 Other Helpful Info

  • Reception has emergency contacts and notices.
  • A defibrillator is located at reception –  what3words location link – https://w3w.co/beep.claims.pounding  and at the Jubilee building what3words location link – https://w3w.co/hiking.harsh.livid
  • Supermarket deliveries: someone must be on-site to receive them. Put accommodation details on the delivery.
  • Please report any damages or maintenance issues during your stay.
  • Lost property will be held for 2 weeks.  Please ask for the procedure for lost property return.
  • Events out with our Control (force majeure) – we will not be liable or responsible for anything caused by events outside our reasonable control, eg serious damage to a venue, adverse weather conditions, pandemic, failure of utility services etc.  We will endeavor to notify you as soon as is reasonably practical.

  • Take care when enjoying outdoor pursuits—respect nature, be prepared for weather and terrain, and let someone know your plans.
